Perry Economic Development announced a substantial gift Thursday that came from a local business to aid in the purchase of Hotel Pattee and La Poste properties.
During the morning event in the Hotel Pattee ballroom, Perry Economic Development announced that Osmundson Manufacturing, which has been a part of Perry for 118 years, donated $500,000 toward the $2 million public fundraising phase of the overall capital campaign to purchase the properties.
“My father actually went to school with Roberta Ahmanson who actually brought the hotel back to life about 20 years ago and Osmundson was actually a big part of getting that going and everything with that from the beginning and it just seemed fitting that we were actually one of the ones that helped keep it going and this time instead of it being a private partnership it’s basically a community ownership with this hotel that means so much to so many in the town.”
It was announced earlier in the year that Perry Economic Development, Perry Industries and the City of Perry decided to partner to purchase Hotel Pattee and La Poste assets to solidify the long term viability of the properties as they remain a critical community asset.
The closing date for the purchase is slated for April 1st and donations can still be made for anyone who may be interested in the cause whether that is a business, individual, company among other interested parties.
To make a donation you can contact board members of Perry Economic Development or Perry Industries Incorporated.
