Mc Kinley Robbins

Raccoon Valley Radio talked with Greene County High School sophomore McKinley Robbins, the recent Class 2A 120 lbs. State Champion wrestler. He went 34-0 this season and is 71-2 in his career with Greene County. He told Raccoon Valley Radio he plans on wrestling a lot of freestyle tournaments this spring and summer for Sebolt Wrestling Academy in Jefferson, where he trains year around.

In addition, Robbins talked about what freestyle can do for him when it comes to folkstyle, which is the high school style of wrestling. “I think the biggest thing freestyle helps you with in folkstyle is just your body positioning, and having that overall feel of just wrestling in general.”

As far as the feeling of being a State Champion, he said, “It’s finally kind of set in. All those excited emotions are gone and that title’s there, but at the same time I need to keep going and looking at next year and these summer tournaments and keep moving forward.”
