With warmer weather continuing to come up on the calendar, mushrooms may soon start popping up around the state, and one in particular will have several people out hunting for it.
ISU Extension and Outreach is offering the opportunity to gain certification to be able to sell morel and oyster mushrooms in Iowa, which is required. ISU Extension is offering two dates for the online workshop, 2-4 p.m. March 20th and 2-4 p.m. April 3rd and participants only need to attend one workshop to receive the certification.
The certification is good for three years and registration is also open to out-of-state individuals who hunt and sell the fungi in Iowa. Registration for the workshop is $50 and those who are being recertified can sign up at a discounted rate.
