The Perry City Council approved the disposal of unclaimed or abandoned property at their regular meeting Monday.

Also, the Council set a public hearing for the proposed fiscal year 2022 budget, approved pay application #4 for the 2020 HMA rehabilitation, and approved multiple items for the wastewater treatment facility improvements in the City of Perry.

Also, the Council voted to not approve a liquor license for Dollar General in Perry. Perry Fire Chief Chris Hinds cited that concerns with fire safety were present at Dollar General that went unheeded, which led to a no vote from the Council on approving the license as fire safety is a requirement for the license.

Finally, the Council approved the schedule for the 2021 yard waste disposal dates and procedures, approved the support of an economic development district in Central Iowa, the application submission of the airport coronavirus response grant program, tax abatement applications for residential construction completed in 2020, approved the purchase of real estate from Interstate Power and Light Company and approved the offer and purchase of real estate.
