On Saturday, the Iowa Republican Party will host its second set of legislative coffees in Guthrie County with Iowa House District 20’s Representative Ray Sorensen and Senate District 10’s Jake Chapman.

Sorensen says he appreciates the event for allowing him to hear from his constituents concerning their viewpoints on different issues.

“A lot of times there’s proponents to bills and opponents to bills. They want to come out and make sure that they get in front of you and let you know where they stand. It’s good to hear that. I welcome that even when I’m out and about in the community. We may disagree. I’m going to try and plead my case as much, but it’s also good to hear some of those off-the-wall ideas or some of those concerns or ideas that may not be grabbing the headlines or taking a lot of attention at the Capitol.”

The event will be held at the Farm Bureau Meeting Room in Guthrie Center at 8 a.m. and will last one hour. There is no cost to attend.
