Establishing and learning a new system is a tremendously difficult task for many student-athletes, but the West Central Valley Wildcats girls’ basketball team found a nice rhythm toward the middle of the year.
Head coach Dan Druivenga says it was a big plus to see his team grow in that new system.
“We ran off a winning streak and seeing the girls improve and getting confidence in what they’re doing, just the overall improvement to show the girls that if you keep working at things, they can get better. Hopefully, one of our objectives over the summer is to keep playing basketball and keep working on our skill sets.”
Druivenga credits the team’s work on fundamentals in their limited practice time in 2020, and hopes he can put more concepts of his scheme into game plans for next season.
