The Greene County FFA Chapter is participating in National FFA Week.
Advisor Raelyn Harris says this week they served a breakfast to staff, along with conducting a coloring contest with the elementary students, writing letters for long-term care residents, hosting a chapter bags tournament and doing trivia and games during lunch time. There are also dress-up days every day this week. Monday was designated as FFA Day, Tuesday was Farmer Day, Wednesday was Blue and Gold Day, today was Camo Day and tomorrow will be Flannel Friday.
Senior member and FFA Sentinel Ashlyn Frederick talks about why someone should join FFA.
“I think it’s a really fun organization to be a part of. I have been able to meet so many people from literally all over the United States when I was at national convention. It has given me so many opportunities to branch out and try new, and different things that I never thought that I would have been able to do. And it’s super fun too. We do a lot of fun things and you get to meet so many new people.”
Harris says the chapter has 64 members in grades 8th-12th from Greene County and Paton-Churdan school districts. The FFA officers are listed below.
