Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball had a big game on Tuesday night against the Panthers of Creston with a ticket to state on the line. The Fillies played 32 tremendous minutes as a team, pulling away early and dominating by the score of 50-28.
Creston showed a 2-3 zone during the first half, and DCG was able to get some great looks from three, knocking them down at a high clip. They knocked down five of them in the first quarter while playing great defense to take a 16-2 lead. They ballooned their lead into the second quarter as they went into the locker room up 28-8, and never looked back to secure the victory.
DCG was able to get some big games out of multiple players putting up double figure scoring. This is the 14th time this season that DCG has held a team to below 40 points.
The win is the 14th straight for DCG as they move to 20-2 on the season, and now will start thinking about Des Moines next week. Their first round matchup will be on Tuesday, March 2nd at 5 p.m against the Bluejays of Bondurant-Farrar at Wells Fargo Arena.
