The Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce has used virtual options to hold events throughout the coronavirus pandemic, but even after it ends that option may continue.

Chamber Director Deb Bengtson says there were many virtual events in 2020, even hybrid events where people could attend in person or watch online. Bengtson talks about some of the events that simply couldn’t be held virtually.

“I’m sure that we will never go away from always having a virtual option with most of our events. Now with Sweet Corn (Festival) that probably won’t be true, but all of our ‘drinks and discussion,’ our ‘coffees and conversation’ will always be a hybrid event because there is going to be some people that maybe don’t have the comfort level of attending some events in person but will jump on a Zoom call. ”

Bengtson notes there are also plenty of events that will be coming up this year that may feature hybrid or virtual options including an upcoming ribbon cutting event in Adel, the Holiday Hometown Celebration in December, but a new garden tour slated for June this year is scheduled to be all in person.
