Friday, February 19th

12:50pm: An officer checked on 607 West South Street after a 911 Hang Up call. The officer learned a child was playing with the phone and all was fine at the residence.

3:28pm: Officers were called to 401 East Russell Street for two parents arguing over their children. The officer arrived and spoke to all parties involved. There is no Custody Order in place for the children, so the officer could not take any action. Both parties were advised to seek a Custody Agreement with the courts. The children left with their father.

4:50pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical call in the 1400 Block of Woodland Drive.

11:37pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Doreen Wilbur Drive resulted in Thomas Gannon of Rippey being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

Saturday, February 20th

3:46am: An officer checked on a subject in a running vehicle near Sparky’s One Stop. The subject was fine and needed no assistance.

11:54am: A caller advised of snowmobiles riding on the sidewalks in the Harrison and Elm Street area. The officer did not locate the rider, but extra attention will be given in the area.

4:14pm: Adrienne Smith reported a Stray Dog in the 600 Block of North Olive Street. The officer did not locate the reported animal.

6:04pm: Jerry Goff reported a Lost Wallet in Jefferson. The officer took a description in case someone brings the wallet to the LEC.

8:08pm: An officer assisted Jefferson Fire with a dumpster fire in the 300 Block of West Head Street. No damage was reported, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

8:12pm: An officer assisted a motorist who ran out of fuel on the overpass. The vehicle was removed.

Sunday, February 21st

10:41am: Rich Burkhardt called numerous times complaining that snow removal crews at 106 West Washington Street were pushing snow into the street. The officer checked the area and did not see any infractions of city ordinance.

11:02am: Shaylon Bonney reported an elderly male had become stuck in the deep snow near Mulberry and Central. The officer arrived and learned the subject had driven off of the roadway and became stuck. The officer provided the subject a ride to his residence in the county.

12:51pm: An officer was requested by deputies to check on a vehicle in the ditch on Neola, south of 265th Street. The officer located the undamaged vehicle and gave two occupants a ride back to their residence in Jefferson.

1:16pm: Rich Burkhardt called in a complaint about businesses in the area of the square, pushing snow onto the street. The complaints were unfounded.

5:08pm: Carter Fetters reported a snowmobile crossed his cleaned sidewalk in the 100 Block of North Olive Street.

7:40pm: Charles Hawkins reported he has custody of his infant grandson. The child was with its mother at 501 South Chestnut Street and Charles had not heard from his daughter in 3 days. He went to the residence and found no one at home. The officer gathered information on the child and entered him as a Missing Juvenile. The child was later located in a motel in Council Bluffs and were on their way back to Jefferson. The child was fine.
