The Panora Chamber of Commerce hosted its February Be Local event last Friday.

Chamber Director Stephanie Hummel was happy with the community response to its Chocolate Walk event despite the bitter cold.

“It was a cold one for sure, but we were super happy with the turnout. We appreciate all of the businesses that participated and all of those who headed out to Twin Vines amongst the frigid temperatures. We had three lucky winners: George Jones, Wendy Baudler and Laura Kemble. I know that there were some requests for things to do different next year and we’ll review that. We look forward to making next year’s Panora Chamber Chocolate Walk even better.”

Jones received $50 in Panora Chamber Bucks while Baudler and Kemble received $25 in Chamber Bucks. Hummel  says she was happy to see the businesses have fun with the theme.

“I think everybody had a little something different they shared that night. Whether it was Crafty’s with their chocolate cake, Twin Vines having the chocolate wine, Guthrie County Arts Council had their little chocolate bombs. A lot of different creative ways for people and businesses to bring their own flavor to the chocolate walk.”
