It’s attempt number two at getting Greene County boys’ District 14 basketball underway at Burnside vs. Southeast Valley. Cold weather prompted postponement of the first round game from last night until 7 p.m. this evening. The contest can be heard on KDLS 1310 AM/99.7 FM with coverage starting around 6:30 p.m.

The Rams and Jaguars will be meeting for the second time since Feb. 8. The Jaguars won that regular season non-conference contest in Jefferson by a score of 69-48 and the visiting team by as many as 34 points in the second half. SEV is 12-9 and the Rams are 5-15.

The Jaguars are led in scoring by a trio of players. Junior Kolson Kruse averages over 17 points a game with 13 per contest from senior Sam Hanson, and another 13 junior from Aaron Graves, who is a U. of Iowa football recruit, and also a SEV wrestler who qualified for the Class 2A State Tournament Thursday in Des Moines.

The Rams have two players averaging double figures in points per game. Junior Bryce Stalder is at 15.3 and sophomore Richard Daugherty is at 13.7.
