Charges have been filed from a high-speed chase incident from January that started in Greene County and ended in Webster County.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams confirms to Raccoon Valley Radio that 18-year-old Tyler Profit of Boone was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with a felony for eluding and misdemeanors for OWI for alcohol or drugs, operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance.

Williams says the charges stem from a high-speed chase incident from January 20th. The chase started on the Highway 4 overpass bridge in Jefferson at 5:14am, when a sheriff’s deputy clocked the vehicle going 80-miles-per-hour. The vehicle refused to stop and a chase ensued. The chase continued into Webster County, reaching speeds of 130-miles-per-hour. Williams notes the chase ceased when the deputy lost sight of the vehicle, but was later notified by a Webster County Secondary Road truck of a vehicle that just went into the ditch near 360th Street and Baxter Avenue.

Three individuals, including Profit, suffered non-life threatening injuries when the vehicle rolled ten times. All the occupants were transported to a hospital in Fort Dodge. No other charges will be filed in this case. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
