U.S. House and Senate Democrats reportedly are backing President Joe Biden’s proposal of $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package.
Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District Representative Randy Feenstra has disagreed with the amount of funds and where the allocation is designated. However, he agrees with and advocates for more funding for COVID-19 vaccines to be distributed at a faster pace than how it is currently.
“That’s got to be paramount. The faster we can get vaccines out to everyone, the quicker we can get back to normalcy in this nation. That’s our struggle right now because we’re not getting our vaccines out fast enough.”
Sources say that a report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has Iowa listed as 42nd nationally for the COVID-19 vaccine doses being delivered and 46th in administering those doses. According to the State Dashboard as of Tuesday there were just over 348,000 doses administered in Iowa.
