ADM Wrestling participated in sectionals at Woodward-Granger this weekend, and put  together their best string of wrestling of the season, with three different wrestlers able to finish first in the six team tournament. The Tigers finished as a team in 3rd with 177.5 points, narrowly missing out as a team to make it to the district meet.

The champions included sophomore Jacob Alexander at 106, sophomore Ben Smith at 132,  and sophomore Gage Davis at 152. Smith was able to win his final by a 8-6 decision over Riece Graham of Woodward-Granger is a thrilling match. Davis was able to have three wins via three falls, including a wild championship match with a fall at 5:28 over Hank Johnson of Gilbert. Alexander won both of his matches via fall including a win over Woodward-Granger’s Alex Saxton with a fall at 3:12.

The Tigers were also able to get a second place finish out of sophomore Kadin O’Connor at 138, and third place finishes out of junior Nathan Tapken at 170 and senior Dallas Trigg at 182.

The Tigers will have multiple qualifiers returning to the mat on Saturday for districts, when they compete at home with the opportunity to send some wrestlers to state.
