As you navigate through your work day more often than not it’s spent at the computer and posture is important to keep you healthy throughout the day.

Clint Lutterman with 21st Century Rehab says having proper posture while on your computer is important to keep in mind. Lutterman talks about the variables there can be while working at your computer in regards to proper posture.

“Being aware of posture and position while you’re working on the computer. Making sure you’re not slouching too much. The position of the monitor, the position of the computer where you’re looking is important.”

Lutterman notes these are easy things people can change throughout their work day to get better posture and avoid some of the issues like shoulder pain and headaches that can be attributed to improper posture.

“As you sit and you’re in that slouched position your head is tipped back a little bit in relative so that you can keep it level. The muscles in the back of the neck get really tight, that can cause a lot of headaches.”

Lutterman says there are many other issues that can be attributed to poor posture such as vision issues and shoulder pain.
