The West Central Valley boys and girls varsity basketball teams will face Earlham in their final road contest of the regular season tonight.

The girls will look to get back to a .500 record at 10-10 against the 10-8 Cardinals. The Lady Wildcats tough defense will contend with freshman Cora Boyle, Earlham’s leading scorer averaging 10.7 points per game. The Cardinals are coming off  a 73-41 loss at home to Nodaway Valley on Saturday. Bella Munoz has been hot lately for the Wildcats, leading the team in scoring over the past two games.

The boys will need to rediscover the hot 3-point shooting they had against Southeast Warren January 28 in order to earn their fourth win of  the season. Four Wildcats scored in double figures in the double-overtime victory before the team hit a cold streak in their last two games against Madrid and Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center. Senior TJ Hawkins leads the 9-6 Cardinals averaging 15.5 points per game.

Tip-off for the girls’ game is at 6 p.m. at Earlham High School.
