With the postseason just one week ago, Greene County sent a smaller than usual number of wrestlers to Saturday’s ACGC Invitational at Guthrie Center. All that’s left is the postseason after Greene County placed 11th among 20 teams.

Rams that went to Guthrie Center with match record for the day and final placing were:

Brenner Gallagher (113) 2-2, fifth place.

John Sprague (126) 2-2, fourth place.

Jackson Turner (132) 1-3, eighth place.

Clay Peters (152) 0-3 Did not place.

Gunnar Goble (170) 1-3, eighth place.

Michael Rumley (195) 2-2, fifth place.

Broc Hammen (220) 1-2, eighth place.

Sawyer Schiltz (285) 2-2, fifth place.

McKinley Robbins, 25-0 and ranked number one at 120 lbs. in Class 2A did not wrestle, and neither did Brady Stauffer (138), Logan Scheuermann (145), Nate Black (152), or Noble Hoyt (160).

The Rams next wrestle on Saturday in Woodward in Class 2A Sectional 2 with Woodward-Granger, ADM, Gilbert, Perry, and Van Meter/Earlham starting at 12 p.m. The top two individuals at each weight advance to the Feb. 13 District in Adel, and the top two teams advance to a dual meet regional Feb. 9.
