The lingering drought throughout the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area is shifting further west.

According to the latest United States Drought Monitor, only the northwest corner of Dallas County is abnormally dry. The rest of the county is no longer under a drought. The western half of Guthrie County suffers from moderate drought, while the rest is abnormally dry. The southeast corner of Greene County is abnormally dry, with the rest in moderate drought.

The National Weather Service reports that Guthrie Center received 14.5 inches of new snow over the past week for 0.65 inches of precipitation. Perry received 9.9 inches of new snow over the past week, amounting to 0.63 inches of precipitation. Jefferson accumulated 7.1 inches of new snow for 0.47 inches of precipitation.
