The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center National Honor Society will hold a drive-through spaghetti
dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., prior to the basketball games at the school
that evening. Organizers plan to have seating available in the cafeteria as well as a “drive up
window” for to-go orders served behind the high school.
Spaghetti, bread sticks, salad, and cookies will be served. A free-will donation is requested, with
all proceeds going to Tori’s Angels Foundation.
The event is in honor of Liberty “Libbie” Ashworth, who was recently diagnosed with a lifethreatening illness and is supported by Tori’s Angels.
“We are so pleased that the National Honor Society students are helping support Tori’s Angels
Foundation,” said Bill Ridgley, CEO of the organization. “A gift to Tori’s Angels goes directly to
help the families we serve.”
Tori’s Angels covers medical expenses not covered by insurance for families who have children
with life-threatening illnesses, up to the age of 19. The organization also creates a network for
families going through stressful times. Through the foundation’s Facebook page and
website,(www.torisangels.org) families assisted by Tori’s Angels have a support network of
prayer warriors who care deeply about them and support them in their struggles.
“We presently support 56 families, and we’re constantly reaching out to medical professionals
to find more families we can assist,” Ridgley said.
Tuesday night will feature three basketball games against West Central Valley, and it is also
Senior Night. A large crowd is expected, said Amy Ruhland, a teacher at Guthrie Center and
advisor to the AC/GC National Honor Society.
“We are thrilled to be helping Libby and the other Tori’s Angels families with this fundraiser,”
Ruhland said. “I always tell the kids to ‘Be the good,’ and we hope to have a great turn-out!”
