Despite Friday’s blizzard, the ongoing drought continues for the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfall totals in Guthrie Center and Jefferson averaged around five-inches, while Perry reports just over seven-inches of snowfall. (I found the numbers from the NWS Facebook page earlier today)
The United States Drought Monitor shows all of Dallas County as abnormally dry. The western half of Guthrie County is in moderate drought, while the rest is abnormally dry. The southeast corner of Greene County is abnormally dry, while the remainder is in a moderate drought.
