The weather and COVID-19 concerns have turned what was to have been an active weekend of Greene County High School sports into a very quiet one. The recent snowstorm postponed Ram basketball at Story City vs. Roland-Story that was to have been played Friday night. No makeup date has been announced. Greene County basketball does have girl/boy doubleheaders scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of the week ahead. It’s non-conference action at Woodward Monday vs. Woodward-Granger, then back at home in Jefferson vs. Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opponent South Hamilton (Jewell) on Tuesday, before a non-conference makeup trip on Thursday to Perry. The Ram wrestling program is on pause due to COVID-19 concerns. Today was to have been the Greene County JV tournament and the varsity was to have gone to eastern Iowa for a tournament at Solon. Head Coach Zach Beekman told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s hoping practice can resume this Monday.
