Jefferson Police

The Jefferson Police Department recently released the results from the latest special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP) Wave.

According to the department, from December 18th through January 1st, officers issued 12 citations and 42 warnings to motorists. The most citations that were issued were six for general traffic violations, along with three for speeding, two for driving with a suspended or revoked license, and one for a stop sign/stop light violation. The most warnings were 12 for speeding. Other warnings included no proof of insurance, vehicle equipment and stop sign violations, dark windows, improper or no vehicle registration, and other traffic violations.
