For Dallas County Extension 2020 was a year of changing how events ran to make sure they could still be held during the coronavirus pandemic. 

One of the changes for 2020 was how the Dallas County Fair was handled. ISU Extension and Outreach Dallas County Regional Director Ann Torbert says they still held exhibits, with drop off times for them to be judged among other things. 

“The other thing we worked to do during county fair was to increase our social media presence. S0, we showed live feeds whenever we could of different livestock shows through our Facebook page. Did a lot more reach out through Instagram.” 

Torbert says that they tried to limit groups as much as possible at the Dallas County Fair as well as continuing to monitor COVID-19 numbers in the county to determine how they move forward with services.
