As we are in the thick of celebrating the holiday season, local and state law enforcement are out on the roads making sure motorists are being safe. 

Law enforcement in Iowa are participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign with the special Traffic Enforcement Program (sTEP Wave program) through January 1st. Iowa State Patrol Public Information Officer Sergeant  Alex Dinkla says the hope is that the extra presence on the roadways will encourage drivers to obey the law. 

There will be extra law enforcement out on the roadways this holiday season and drivers are encouraged to call law enforcement if they see a drunk driver.
