Minimal amounts of snowfall over the past week in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area didn’t improve the prolonged drought of 2020.
According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center saw a snow accumulation 0.01-inch of precipitation. Perry and Jefferson each gained minimal new snow, also amounting to 0.01-inch of precipitation.
The United States Drought Monitor reports that all of Dallas County is abnormally dry. The eastern third of Guthrie County is abnormally dry, while the remainder is in a moderate drought. Greene County stays in moderate drought for all but the southeastern corner, which is abnormally dry.
