Greene County junior Nathan Black (152 lbs.) has begun the high school wrestling season with a 9-0 record. He’s up one weight class from a season ago when he went 25-8 at 145 lbs., and after shoulder surgery in Dec. 2018 cut his freshman season short, he sports a 39-9 career mark.

Black has collected two forfeits, pinned five opponents, won once by major decision and once by a 14-8 regular decision. The regular decision came against an opponent with a 13-2 record.

The Rams have resumed practice after taking some time off before and after Christmas. Coach Zach Beekman’s team is 5-4 in dual meets with a four match winning streak. Next on the schedule is a quadrangular in Greenfield on Tuesday, Jan. 5 vs. Nodaway Valley, Martensdale-St. Mary’s, and Woodward-Granger.
