
The Raccoon River conference struggles continued Friday night inside the Perry Sports Pavilion as RRC newcomer North Polk swept a doubleheader. The defending Class 3A runner-up Comets defeated the Perry girls 70-28 while the North Polk boys won their third straight game toppling Perry 53-9. The nine Perry points marked a season low for the Bluejays. Perry led 6-2 late in the first quarter before North Polk went on a 45-1 run. The Bluejays were held scoreless for over 12 minutes. Jeremy Mateso led Perry with 4 points.
Lydia Olejniczak scored 12 for the Jayettes in their lopsided loss. Perry trailed 40-10 at halftime. Both Perry teams fall to 0-4 in the RRC.
