Paton-Churdan improved to 6-1 on the girls’ basketball season with a 57-44 Rolling Valley Activities Conference victory at Woodbine on Friday. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team is now 5-1 in conference play while the Tigers fell to 5-3 on the season.

The Rockets had the inside-outside game working well with 6′ 3″ senior post Danielle Hoyle scoring 26 points to go with hot three-point shooting by her teammates. P-C made nine three-point goals with four of those from senior Tessa Steimel, who scored 14 points. Hoyle even got in on the long-range act with a three-pointer. The Rockets led 33-17 at halftime.

Coach Bud Fagen saw his team fall to 2-5 on the season with a 73-45 loss. The Tigers improved to 5-3. The home team racked up the points early and led 23-8 after one quarter and 49-18 at halftime. P-C had 13 points from Connor Brus, 10 points and two steals by Justin Stream, and nine points and three rebounds from Riley Callum.
