After multiple delays to open the season, Greene County began the wrestling season on Tuesday night with three dual meets at Iowa Falls. Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams won 53-6 over Baxter, and lost 42-34 to Gilbert and 39-37 to Iowa Falls-Alden.

The Rams forfeited five weight classes vs. IF-A and Gilbert while collecting only two forfeits vs. the Cadets and two against the Tigers. In the match with Baxter, there were four double forfeits (113, 132, 182, 195). Plus, the Rams collected two forfeits and Baxter collected one.

Sophomore McKinley Robbins (120 lb.s) won all three matches by fall, including one in just 13 seconds. Junior John Sprague (126 lbs.) was 3-0 with a fall and two forfeits, while senior Brady Stauffer (138) was 3-0 with two falls and a 3-0 decision. Freshman Gavin Scheuermann (145) won all three of his matches by recording a fall, a technical fall, and a major decision. Junior Nathan Black 152) was 3-0 with a forfeit and a pair of first period falls, and junior James Currier (170) was 3-0 with a forfeit and a pair of falls.

The Rams are scheduled to face Nevada and I-35 (Truro) in Nevada tomorrow night.
