The KDLS Raccoon Valley Radio Station in Perry was the host of a familiar guest and voice.
The radio station hosted Van Harden as part of his retirement tour. Harden got his start at KDLS 50 years ago as he began his career. Now, he got to host a show out of the very station he started in, something Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee says was an exciting opportunity.
“Well we were very honored with the opportunity. It’s not every day that you get to kind of honor the person who started a 50-year career at the place they started it at the same time that we just completed a major remodeling. It was exciting to have Van in here and he is very complimentary of what we have here and he is also very complimentary of local radio so that was exciting.”
Harden will officially retire January 8th of next year.
