A Guthrie County high school is reminding fans and spectators of its updated COVID-19 restrictions, following the governor’s most recent public health proclamation.

West Central Valley Activities Director David Doely is happy with the changes allowing a few more spectators to watch in-person events after a press conference from the governor’s office Wednesday.

“Governor Reynolds released that she is going to allow two spectators per participant. That will include not only basketball players or wrestlers competing, but any participant. Before, coaches, cheer, pep band, they were not allowed two spectators, now they will while they’re competing. That will open up a little more opportunities for senior night to be able to acknowledge and thank some of our students so they’ll get to have a couple parents there to support them.

All spectators in person must be family members with the participant. Spectators are required to wear a mask and sign in for contact tracing purposes if necessary. Events will be live streamed through the district website at wcvwildcats.org.
