The first AP poll came out for class 3A boys basketball, and the Mustangs of Dallas Center – Grimes have been able to be the top team in the state after their strong start to the season.

The Mustangs have been able to dominate competition so far, as they have won by 38, 30, and 27 in their first three games, cruising so far on the season. This is a Mustangs team that is is well rounded and deep, as they returned the majority of their players from last year, and have played up to their potential so far.

The rest of the top five rounds out with Ballard at number two, Carroll at three, Davenport Assumption at four, and Le Mars at five. DCG returned the majority of their team from last year, and have played like it thus far going 5-0.

The boys will have their next game tomorrow night when they host Grinnell.
