For the first time in school history, both AC/GC basketball teams were able to pick up wins against Madrid.
The girls got the night started with an offensive frenzy. The Chargers rolled to a 70-39 win in their season opener. EmmaKay McClain was the teams leading scorer with 15 points and was a menace defensively as well.
The boys haven’t beaten Madrid since their time as Guthrie Center in 2013. Miles Kading got the night started by hitting three consecutive three pointers. Miles also had a block, several steals, and more than enough assists to lead the Chargers to their first victory of the season. AC/GC went on to win the game 69-53. Both teams will be back in action Tuesday against Des Moines Christian.
