As the coronavirus pandemic continues to drag on you may be wondering when and who may be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available.
According to Dallas County Public Health Public Information Officer Ann Cochran, there have not been priority groups set as of now but preliminary plans include healthcare workers and those who are vulnerable will be the first to receive it.
There are several companies who are seeking authorizations for their vaccines from the federal Food and Drug Administration and possibly gaining approval within the next few weeks. Cochran explains how their partnerships with different agencies will hopefully make this a smooth transition.
“The Dallas County Health Department is continuing to work with state and local partners and even on the national level to plan the vaccine distribution right here at home.”
The Dallas County Public Health Department will continue to coordinate with state, local and national officials as more information about the vaccine becomes available.
