U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne

As we come up to the end of the year, Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative is wanting to see certain legislation get approved.

U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne says aside from needing to extend funding to avoid a federal government shutdown by the end of this week and approving a second round of stimulus funding due to COVID-19, there is also a National Defense Authorization Act, which authorizes the defense and national security apparatus for the country. Additionally, with the tax provisions for next year, Axne wants to see her Deferred Childhood Savings Plan get approved.

“Which allows families who saved money for their childcare to roll that money over into 2021, if they didn’t spend it this year. In many cases they didn’t because childcare locations were closed down. The last thing I want is for people to lose their hard earned money during this really difficult time.”

Axne urges Iowans to reach out to their respective U.S. House of Representatives and Iowa’s senators for comment about her bill.
