A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to prison for a July incident.
Greene County Attorney Thomas Laehn tells Raccoon Valley Radio that 35-year-old Justin Michael Cosnotti pled guilty to two Class D Felonies for willful injury causing serious injury and his third or subsequent offense for domestic abuse assault, along with a serious misdemeanor for his first possession of methamphetamine. Laehn says as per the plea agreement, Cosnotti was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
The charges stem from a July 3rd incident. Cosnotti assaulted a female victim during and altercation, in which he used brass knuckles. Then during a search warrant was executed at the residence, Jefferson Police officers found drugs.
Laehn notes, there is a five year sentence for each of the two felonies and one year for the misdemeanor, to be served consecutively. Cosnotti will also pay over $1,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs and attorney fees. He was also involved in several other cases, which Laehn says he dismissed all other charges.
