The coronavirus pandemic isn’t going to stop the Perry Community Christmas dinner this year.
However, the event will look a little different and will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm December, 25 at the Perry Elks Lodge, 2823 Willis Ave. The meal will be served as drive-thru only and home deliveries will also be available at approximately 10:45am or 12:15pm. Those requests should be received prior to December 25th.
The dinner is free to anyone and the menu will consist of ham, pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, rolls and dessert.
Additionally, the Perry Community Christmas Dinner committee is seeking volunteers to help. On December 25th there will be a need for people to work in groups of two, preferably from the same household, and individuals can also help. There is also a need for volunteers for delivery driving in groups of two and on December 24 for prep work starting at 10am at the Christian Church.
Contact information to request for home delivery is Larry at 515-360-4803 and would appreciate receiving those requests before December 25. If you are interested in volunteering for the event you can call Deb Miller at 515-465-3740. All volunteers will be required to wear a mask.
