Wednesday, November 25th
4:44am: A Greene County Deputy requested a Jefferson officer check several residences in Jefferson for a missing juvenile’s case. The Officer did so and passed on the collected information to the Deputy
10:07am: Donald Yepsen reported having received a voicemail from an unknown person trying to collect personal information. The call was determined to be a scam, no information was provided.
10:56am: A traffic stop at Wilcoxway and South Chestnut Street resulted in Kevin Johnson of Stratford being cited for “Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability”
2:58pm: A traffic stop at West Central and North Grimmell Road resulted in Jessica Woodley of Jefferson being cited for “Excessive Speed”
3:42pm: At traffic stop at West Mahlon and North Grimmell Road resulted in Jessica Montoya of Jefferson being cited for “Driving while Suspended” and “Excessive Speed”
Thursday, November 26th
8:41am: A traffic Stop at South Elm Street and 250th Street resulted in Jeffrey Johnson of Jewell being cited for “Excessive Speed”
11:38am: A traffic Stop in the 1000 block of North Grimmell Road resulted in Paula Parris of Jefferson being cited for “Excessive Speed”
1:59pm: A traffic Stop at US Hwy. 30 and Oakland Ave resulted in Donald Butterfield of Somers being cited for “Excessive Speed”
3:32pm: The Greene County Ambulance was dispatched to 1502 235th Street for a life line activation. A Jefferson Officer responded to assist. The Officers assistance was not needed and the Ambulance Crew took over the call for service
3:42pm: A Jefferson Officer was requested to assist the Greene County Jailer with an unruly inmate. Two Officers assisted the jailer until a Greene County Deputy arrived
5:59pm: Brenda Batschelet reported two persons appeared to have been trying to break into the Jefferson Fire Department building, 220 North Chestnut Street. The Officer investigated the scene and found no signs of an attempted break in.
10:00pm: Jason Palmer turned in a locked black bag at the Jefferson Police Department he had found in Jefferson. The Officer is investigating to determine the bag’s owner
Friday, November 27th
2:17am: Ben Ellingson reported the theft of two archery targets from his yard. The Officer is investigating.
9:01am: Jim Burton reported an abandon bicycle at 1000 West Adams Street. The Officer transported the bike to the impound lot and secured it.
10:29am: Patrick Hansen reported a civil dispute over private property left in a residence. The Officer advised all involved parties to contact their attorneys.
3:26pm: An anonymous male reported food was being wasted at 307 South Wilson Avenue. The male reported having seen a large amount of bread throw away into a dumpster on the property. The Officer found the bread was thrown away due to it being expired.
4:00pm: An anonymous male reported a dog being neglected at a residence in the 300 block of East Washington Street. An officer investigated and found the animal was in good health and receiving proper care.
4:36pm: The Greene County Ambulance was dispatched to HyVee, 106 West Washington Street for a person having a seizure. A Jefferson Officer also responded and assisted at the scene.
Saturday, November 28th

Sunday, November 29th
2:48am: A Jefferson Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Westwood Drive / South Grimmell Road for a report of a male in a running vehicle stopped on the travelled portion of the roadway. It was advised the male appeared to be unconscious at the wheel. The Officer’s investigation led to the arrest of 52 year old Dale Lee Spaulding of Jefferson for Operating While Intoxicated – 1st Offense
11:33am: Vicki Jackson requested a welfare check on her mother in Jefferson. The Officer found her mother was fine and having issues with her phone.
Monday, November 30th
1:32am: A Jefferson Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance in the 900 block of North Cedar Street
10:24am: Ola Jones requested a welfare check on her 17 year old stepdaughter. The Officer is investigating.
11:02am: A traffic stop at West Central and North Grimmell Road resulted in Audrey Cmelik of Bagley being cited for “Excessive Speed”
11:57am: A traffic stop at West Central and North Grimmell resulted in Brock Louk of Jefferson being cited for “Excessive Speed”
2:23pm: The Jefferson Police Department received an anonymous complaint for a dog being neglected at a residence in the 300 block of East Washington Street. The Officer found the dog was being cared for.
2:41pm: A traffic stop at 220 th Street and Oakland Avenue resulted in Levi Schmucker of Lorimor being cited for “Excessive Speed”
4:47pm: While on patrol a Jefferson Officer noticed several open doors at 307 North Wilson Street. Upon investigation the Officer found the property unoccupied. The doors were closed and the property owner notified.
9:58pm: An Officer was dispatched to HyVee, 106 West Washington Street for a report of shoplifting having occurred earlier that day. The Officer is investigating.
