Guthrie County communities are encouraging residents to shop local with various incentives for today’s Small Business Saturday.
Main Street Guthrie Center is giving away poinsettias at Art on State to those who spend $50 at any downtown business, and those who spend $25 can be entered into the Shop Guthrie Center Giveaway for the chance to win $100 in Chamber Bucks. The Guthrie Center Chamber of Commerce is also offering a discount this holiday season on their Chamber Bucks, with $50 worth of Chamber Bucks for $40 and $100 worth for $75, while supplies last.
The Stuart Chamber of Commerce is putting a COVID-19-related twist on their recent Egg on the Shelf tradition this year. Instead of asking the public to look for Stuart the Egg in various businesses, the Chamber will be posting a picture of each of the participating businesses with the egg for a few days at a time. For anyone who spends $10 at a featured business they will be entered into a drawing to win $50 in Chamber Bucks. This promotion lasts from Small Business Saturday until December 23rd. The Stuart Fremont Theatre is also holding a free showing of “A Christmas Story” at 11 a.m. today as part of their Merchant Movies series. Tickets do not need to be picked up in advance, and face masks are required when not seated.
The Panora Chamber of Commerce held their “Mini-mize Your Travels by Shopping Small” Black Friday promotional event yesterday, but they are also holding a holiday raffle fundraiser for some gift baskets. You can find more information here.
