Time is running out for renters and homeowners to receive state assistance due to COVID-19.
The Assistance for Renters and Homeowners program through the Iowa Finance Authority allows renters to receive up to four months of financial assistance for no more than $3,200, and homeowners can receive up to four months of assistance for mortgage payments for no more than $3,600. The program focuses on those at-risk of eviction or foreclosure due to loss of income from the pandemic.
The Residential Utility Disruption Prevention Program is for households to receive up to $2,000 to go towards electric, natural gas and water bills if at-risk for being disconnected due to loss of income from the pandemic.
The application deadline for both programs is December 4th.
