******** Jefferson coverage provided by the Sheriff’s Office overnight until 0600 hrs.
8:00am: Eric Eliserio reported his juvenile son was missing. The officer learned this had occurred in Churdan and passed it to the Sheriff’s Office.
8:38am: Adam Winger reported the Theft of a Hoverboard overnight from 509 South Olive Street. The board was valued at $200.00 and had been left outside.
9:18am: Barb Sherman reported a possible Scam Call. Subjects claiming to work for Amazon requested information to update her account. She provided them minimal information before feeling the call was a scam. She ended the call at that point.
9:19am: Caden Etherton reported a stray dog running loose near Washington and Cedar Streets. The officers did not locate the reported animal.
11:13am: Perry Brown reported numerous people at 777 Wild Rose Lane were not wearing masks. The officer advised the mandate is not enforceable at the county level and took no action.
12:40pm: Brenda Batchelet reported a Lost Wallet. The officer advised her to contact her bank and cancel her cards.
12:56pm: An officer responded to a Backing Accident in the 500 Block of South Elm Street. A 2014 Ford Edge, owned and operated by Ashley Lorentzen of Jefferson, was backing from a private drive in the 500 Block of South Elm Street and backed into a southbound vehicle as it passed by. The 1994 Chevrolet C3500 was owned by Robert Thorp of Jefferson and being operated by Gary Grundon of Grand Junction. The Thorp vehicle had a reported $1000.00 in damages, while the Lorentzen vehicle had a reported $1500.00 in rear end damage. Lorentzen was cited for, “Unsafe Backing Upon a Highway.”
5:10pm: Dave Morain reported an injured deer on the roadway near South Elm and Ram Drive. The officer dispatched the animal and removed it from the roadway.
9:14pm: The Wild Rose casino requested a Welfare Check on a male, who had fallen on the concrete while leaving the casino and received minor injuries. He had sat in his vehicle for several minutes and may be intoxicated. The officer made contact with the subject in his vehicle. The officer provided some minor first aid to the subject and requested he not drive away from the area, as the officer noticed some signs of impairment during the interaction. The officer proved the male a ride to a local Hotel for the remainder of the evening.
