A head-on collision in Guthrie County results in four injuries Saturday morning.
Adair and Guthrie Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf tells Raccoon Valley Radio the crash happened on Iowa Highway 141, just east of the 120th Street intersection around 7:30am. Kempf says four people were injured in the incident, three were in one vehicle and one person was in the other.
One person was transported by Mercy One Helicopter to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, two were taken by ground ambulance to hospitals in Des Moines and one was taken by ambulance to Dallas County Hospital. Kempf notes the injuries range between serious to minor. One person from each vehicle had to be extricated and both vehicles were total losses.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time, and the cause of the incident remains under investigation by the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office. Yale, Jamaica, Bagley, Panora and Dawson fire departments, along with Dallas County and Panora EMS, and the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
