Recently re-elected Republican State Senator Jake Chapman was selected as Senate President for the upcoming legislative session.
Chapman was re-elected to his third term as Iowa State Senator for District 10, representing all of Adair and Guthrie, most of Dallas, and portions of Cass and Polk counties. Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio once he returns to Des Moines, he’s going to continue to support local law enforcement, “In addition to keeping our fiscal house in order, and making sure Iowans can keep more of their hard-earned dollars, one of the areas of focus that I’ll be focused on will be to defend, not defund, our law enforcement. These are the brave men and women who stand between that thin blue line between the safety of our residents and total anarchy. Next year I will be focusing on strengthing our laws to prevent this kind of lawlessness.”
Chapman served as assistant majority leader during the last general assembly. The 89th Iowa General Assembly begins January 11th, 2021.
