Local farmers can learn about future grain prices and basis trends, cost of grain ownership and more during a new monthly program hosted by Guthrie County Extension and Outreach.

The Guthrie County Grain Marketing Group will meet monthly beginning on Monday, November 16th from 7-8:30 p.m. until March. Other topics that will be covered by Extension Farm Management Specialist Tim Christensen include basis and minimum price contracts and separating the futures prices from your local basis. The first meeting will be held at the Extension office in Guthrie Center, with all meetings available in person or in a virtual format. Pre-registration is preferred for the group, which is being sponsored by Iowa Trust and Savings Bank.
