COVID-19 has impacted one traditional Thanksgiving event in Greene County.
The Paton Gobble Gobble 5K Run will happen on Thanksgiving Day, but in a slightly different way. Organizers say there will not be an official run, including no pre-gathering, no public restrooms will be available and no pumpkin pies for the winners. However, the run itself will happen at 8:30am Thanksgiving morning.
Participants can meet outside at the Loren Shriver Community Building, and mile markers and signs will be along the route. Non-perishable food items will be collected on race day and donated to the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC). Organizers are urging race participants to wear masks and social distance when possible.
