The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a way for adults to remain socially distant and jumpstart their fitness.
The Lazy Man Triathlon is a six-week program to help those who want to stay healthy and compete against themselves. The goals for the participants is to do 26.2 miles on the treadmill, cross-trainer, walking track or running; 112 miles on a stationary bike, and 50,000 meters on a rowing machine. The mileage can be done at the Greene County Community Center or outside of the facility. Progress will be tracked on the upper level of the community center. JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral tells Raccoon Valley Radio they had about 20 participants last year.
The program is from November 9th-December 18th. Cost to participate is $20, which includes a t-shirt. Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or stop by to sign-up.
