It’s Election Day and the Greene County Auditor’s Office is taking necessary precautions at each polling location to ensure safety against COVID-19.
Deputy Auditor Billie Hoskins tells Raccoon Valley Radio that all poll workers are required to wear masks and they have plexi-glass barriers at each station. Poll workers are sanitizing tables and chairs as voters leave their respective polling location. Hoskins adds, they have masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer for voters and strongly encourage voters to wear a mask.
Voters are reminded to bring their driver’s license, Iowa Identification Card or Iowa Voter Identification Card to cast a ballot. If your driver’s license does not show your current address, voters will need to bring an additional document that proves they are a Greene County resident.
Finally, due to COVID-19 concerns, there are fewer polling locations. All three Jefferson precincts are to vote at the former Greene County Middle School gym. The north precinct will be at the Churdan Community Center. The east precinct will be voting at the St. Parish Center in Grand Junction. The west precinct will be at the Scranton Community Center. The central precinct will vote at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Polls are open from 7am-9pm.
Raccoon Valley Radio will report all local election results after the polls close tonight and tomorrow morning.
