A reminder that several Greene County communities are having Halloween activities later today.
The cities of Jefferson, Scranton and Paton will have their Beggars Night from 5-7pm. Kids and families are reminded to only go to houses that have a porch light on. The cities of Grand Junction and Rippey are each having a truck-or-treat event. Grand Junction’s event is from 5-6:30pm, where vehicles will be parked along Main Street. Due to COVID-19 concerns, vehicles must be spaced out and treats should be individually wrapped.
Rippey’s truck-or-treat will be from 5:30-7:30pm near the library. Additionally, the Friends of Rippey will be serving a free-will donation grab-and-go meal with pork loin sandwiches. Proceeds will benefit the town’s Sesquicentennial event for next year.
Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams reminds those attending Halloween parties to plan accordingly if you are going to be consuming alcohol.
“If you feel buzzed or anything like that, please don’t drive. Greene County has a taxi service now, so use them if need be. But just don’t try and drive after you’ve been drinking.”
Each event is free and open to the public.
