The day is finally here for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn cross country teams and runners, as they will be competing this afternoon in Fort Dodge for the 2020 state cross-country championships in 3A.
The 10th ranked boys will have their team compete during the 4:00 race, with their top runner senior Nate Mueller looking to repeat as a state champion. On the girls side, they will have sophomore Geneva Timmerman representing them, as she hopes her second consecutive trip to state will yield a lot of success as she hopes to be in the top 10. Junior Cooper Greenslade and senior Ethan Juergens will also be looking to put up some good times as well, and help hopefully lead this boys team to a high standing.
All of these runners will be focused on running their pace during the race, not be rattled by the excellent competition around them, and focus on putting up some of their best times of the season. Weather is expected to be a good day, it will be sunny with temperatures in the mid 40s, and wind not initially expected to be too much of a factor as well.
Timmerman will be racing in her meet starting at 3:30, while the boys team will be competing at 4:00 o’clock as the Tigers will be looking to take home some hardware by the end of the day.
